At Frankphil Childcare Limited, we respect the privacy of the children attending our settings

and the privacy of their parents and carers. Working with children requires us to collect data

from parents and carers to enable us to support all the children in our care according to

their individual needs and level of development by collecting data through observations,

written information and taking photos as evidence only for the purpose it is intended for.

We have taken into consideration to be compliance with the law and having a lawful basis

for processing personal data at our setting, which are referred to as the privacy principles

that we follow. They are:

 We must have a lawful reason for collecting personal data and must do it in a fair

and transparent way. In any case

 We must not collect any more data than necessary.

 To take data that is accurate and there must be a mechanism in place to keep it up

to date and safe,

 We cannot keep the data longer than needed.

 We must protect the personal data and must be confidential.

We will only share personal information about your child with other professional agencies if.

 We have a safeguarding concern about your child.

 Are required by the government bodies or law enforcement agencies.

 Have obtained your prior permission.

As a parent /carer you have the right to ask to see the information / data we hold on to your

child and if there are any errors or information that needs updated to be updated

accordingly.

 We will not be able to continue to care for your child if we do not have sufficient

information about them.

 Even after your child has left our care, we have a statutory duty to retain some types

of data for specific periods of time (such as records of complaints, accidents and

attendance)

 If you have a complaint about how we have kept your information secure or how we

have responded to your request to access, update or erase the data, you can refer

us to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
